High school students may have the opportunity to enroll in college level courses before graduation. This can reduce both the amount of time and money needed to complete your two-year and four-year degree. In addition, students that earn college credit in high school are more likely to graduate high school and continue through college. Students at participating high schools may elect to take a CCC college course at their school; or students can take a class at one of the seven CCC campuses while they are still enrolled in high school.
Eligibility
In order to be eligible for early college credit, high school junior and senior students must be college-ready as demonstrated by the ACT, or the COMPASS placement test. The COMPASS placement test may be taken at college testing centers. Set up an appointment with a college advisor to take advantage of the programs below. Before taking the test,
make sure you prepare.

Descriptions of each one of our early college areas is below:
High school students that are college eligible may enroll in classes at one of the City Colleges of Chicago. There are 100 seats available at each campus every semester including summer. Students in dual enrollment frequently enroll in English, Mathematics, Foreign Languages, Science, and Literature. Participating students receive college credit for their work.
Students enrolled at Truman College and Kennedy-King College get a free textbook in addition to the free tuition for their Dual Enrollment course. Contact the

Dual Credit
The City Colleges of Chicago has partnered with a number of high schools to offer college credit classes at the high school. Participating students will receive both college and high school credit for their work. Current dual credit offerings are in General Education Math and English.
Articulation - Credit for Prior Learning
High school students may be able to receive college credit for work that was completed in high school. The City Colleges of Chicago is working with Chicago Public Schools to create articulation agreements in Career and Technical Education (CTE) areas. Upon successful completion of their high school course work, students may receive college credit upon enrollment at the City Colleges of Chicago.
