Continuing Education Image Theme

The Harold Washington College (HWC) Continuing Education Program offers personal development, career education and special interest courses to meet the educational, social and recreational needs of adults, teens and youth regardless of their educational backgrounds. Courses are offered in six or seven week sessions that meet once a week for about two hours during the day, evenings or weekends; a few are intensive one, two, or three-day workshops. A sampling of recent courses range across such areas as management, business, financial planning, ACT exam preparation, Illinois Basic Skills Math and English review, GRE review, GMAT review, LSAT review, real estate sales, mortgage loan originator, vocational skills, foreign languages, digital photography, American sign language, and more.

Programs are also held off-campus through contractual agreements. Businesses may choose from among CE's list of available courses, or may request a customized training package. Special programs currently offered include:

Adult students are encouraged to select from among Harold Washington College's extensive regular college credit courses as well. Many students alternate between Continuing Education and the regular curriculum, or enroll simultaneously in both.
