President's Message

Welcome to Harold Washington College (HWC)! Thank you for choosing our college as your destination for achieving your Associate Degree or Certificate, transfer credit for your four-year college or university, additional training in a career field, completion of your General Education Development Test (G.E.D.) or for seeking to enhance your skills through our Continuing Education programs. We are pleased and proud to have you as a part of the Harold Washington College campus community, and are eager to provide you with excellent customer service to help you obtain all of your academic goals!

At Harold Washington College you will receive an excellent education in small classes, taught by dedicated and talented professors. Most of our college credit courses are fully transferable to any college or university across the country. During the Summer or Fall 2009 semester you may meet a Testing Center Coordinator, College Advisor, Financial Aid Advisor, or other Student Services staff and Security staff during the issuance of a CTA U-Pass or Harold Washington College Student ID Card. All of the non-teaching staff at HWC strive to ensure you maximize the learning opportunities offered by the professors in our classrooms and laboratories.

We have a state-of-the-art building that provides a Library & Multi-Media Center, expanded Computer Classrooms, and newly furnished classrooms and laboratories for the arts and sciences. Our multi-purpose rooms can accomodate concert and theatre events, meeting and conference space, as well as office space for faculty and staff. We also have a Student Union Lounge that provides food service.

We have a world-class facility, which is fully equipped with all the latest instructional technologies, to accompany the excellence in education provided by our faculty. All student services offices are located on the first and second floors of our building, which creates one-stop student services during registration and during the semester.
